Meet Lynn Jackson

Rural Utah for Real.

Lynn Jackson is a native Utahn with deep family roots in Sanpete County. He was raised primarily in Carbon County where he graduated from East Carbon High in 1972. A proud Utah State alum, Lynn currently resides in Grand County where he has called home for the past 40 years.

Lynn’s family has been essential to his personal and professional success. He and his wife Kathryn have created a wonderful family. Together they have 3 beautiful daughters, 7 grandkids, and anywhere from 2 to 6 dogs at any given time.

Working for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for 32 years, first in Hanksville and then in Moab; Lynn started his career as a geologist. He began his journey moving up the chain of command to the role of Supervisor before finishing as the Associate Manager in Moab and retiring from the BLM in 2010. For the past 13 years, Lynn has worked as a mining/public lands consultant throughout the western United States. These jobs have given Lynn a unique opportunity to work with and become intimately familiar with the issues and resources surrounding the Carbon, Emery, Wayne, Sevier, Garfield, Kane, Grand, and San Juan county areas. He has traveled extensively within the Southern Utah area and has garnered a deep understanding, appreciation, and respect for the incredible land and hard-working people.

This deep respect and love for his community and state ultimately inspired him to run for and then serve as a Grand County Commissioner from 2013 through 2016 where he established strong and influential relationships with the surrounding County Commissioners, Utah’s federal delegation, and state and local lawmakers. His willingness to serve his community has continued as he is currently serving as the Grand County Republican Party Chair.
